How to configure a I/O module? keep getting ''port assignment is invalid''

  • Hi Robotfellas

    I have just installed a i/o board in my FAnuc Rj3 i-size
the power led is the only (of the four) leds that is on on the first block (the input leds is also on if i conect 24v )

i sume that i shall use the port JD1B ?
on the big yellow board i guess that i shal use i/o link? (but there is another conector there (is this for the i/o on the robot?(they work 8in/8out)))

How shall the setting be RACK SLOT START PT I keep getting ''port assignment is invalid'' (shall i do anything else somewhere?)
    I guess: 0 1 1 (is this right?)

Thank you all wery much.... :hilfe: :hilfe: :hilfe:

  • ANZEIGE
  • on the plug should be a paper sticker with the description....
    -
i (for my self) would try to put the new connector to i/o-link at the controller and the existing plug to the B-Connector of the new i/o-Module
    -
The unknown connectors names should be described at the board. with this names a handbook helps...

begin of counting boards and slots is at 0 or at 1?

  • Hi, and thanks

I finally got connection with the inputs (with the cable in JD1B and the i/o link in the other end, just the way the below pictures illustrates)

..but after removing the small cable(JD4) that was in the i/o link plug, I cant use the robot i/o anymore (on the 3 arm)

so my question can i connect this JD4 cable, to the I/o module (for example JD1A or JD2) and re-establish the i/o on the robot arm?

    Thanks......... :danke:

  • write down here your actual I/O-Assignment... pse no Photo. Cant read that low quality....

  • the I/O assignemt should be wrong,

it is all mapped to Rack 0 Slot 0.

Rack 0 is only used internal

It must be Rack 1 Slot 1 Start 1

Is the link LED on? if not check $IOMASTER must be TRUE

  • Hi and thanks for the very useful answers.

    finanaly git all working

    with: rack1 slot 1 start 1

the JD4 cable still in i/o link on the yellow board.
and the cable to the i/o module in JD1B and in a socket on the board in the small "operator" box

then both i/o module and i/o on the robot works.

thanks for the best forum on the web :danke: :danke: :danke:
