DSQC 363 robot computer problem

Good Morning Guys!!

Iam paul from southafrica.

we are having a problem with DSQC 363 ( Robot computer), we tried to load Base ware 3.2 which the card cannot support. after loading disk 3, it bounces out, now when we start the robot it is not asking for any keydisk.it says "teach pendant communication failed".

How to reset the DSQC 363 card again ??, so that it will ask for the key disk again so that we can load the older version. 3.051.

1. Can we connect  Pc to the Dsqc 363 serial port directly?
2. is there any special pin configuration for the serial connection?
3. can we use hyperteriminal to reset the card?

I read some toipics from  Mr.Stromer .
"Falsches Betriebssystem S4C M97 " I think  Mr.Welrob also got similar type of problems let us c if we get some tips.

Is any other option to reset the card.? please let me know.

Our system info:
Robot card DSQC 363
Memory card DSQC 323
Main computer DSQC 325

M97 IRB 6400 S4C
we are using it for IRB 6400/ 2.4  150kg.

Hi Paul,

when we want to delete a damaged system on our S4C controllers, we switch off the cabinet and disconnect the 2 battery cells above the computer rack for a few seconds.

The second way is to switch off the cabinet and disconnect all the cards in the computer rack for a few seconds, then put them back in the rack again.

maybe this will help you with your problem....

You can connect to every card with Hyperterminal, but i dont now how to do any action on the cards.....

Hi Paul,

i had the same problem some years ago.
The only solution is to change the card to a new one.
The flash on the DSQC 363 is destroyed and you have no
chance to change it back.( Statement from ABB-Service)

NOTE! DSQC363 (IOC/AXC) is NOT supported in RW3.2.  If cold booting with RW3.2 there will be an overflow in the flash memory on the computer board, and a special tool at the supplier is needed to recover the flash.

I came to know from ABB service center & Sweden southafrica that there is a special
tool to flash the memory , and we can able to use the card again
